Deal was also the co-founder of the Hyperion Nuclear Power Company, and is the current CEO of the Los Alamos Lab spin-out company based in Golden, Colorado – IX Power Clean Water. The company treats produced water from Oil & Gas operations and is currently crowdfunding. https://ixwater.com/
The Books on Film series is presented by the Jefferson County Library Foundation (JCLF) and will be held at the Regal United Artists movie theatre at the Colorado Mills Mall on West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado. Tickets are limited. Visit: https://jeffclf.org.
The fundraiser helps the Jeffco Library Foundation provide direct financial support to free Jefferson County Library programs. Opening night tickets for this much-anticipated summer film will include a soda, popcorn and opportunity to win a door prize. The film will be introduced by Denver 7 TV’s meteorologist Lisa Hidalgo, with post-film discussion led by John (Grizz) Deal. J. Robert Oppenheimer, PhD, an American theoretical physicist, was selected during World War II to lead the Manhattan Project for the United States, the effort which created the atomic bombs used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki for the purpose of forcing Japan to surrender and end the conflict. After the war ended, Oppenheimer became chairman of the influential General Advisory Committee of the newly created United States Atomic Energy Commission. He lobbied for international control of nuclear power, to avert nuclear proliferation and a nuclear arms race with the Soviet Union.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Jefferson County Library Foundation (JCLF) offers movie-goers a unique Books on Film experience and so much more! Through public outreach, advocacy and fundraising, JCLF strengthens the Jefferson County Library system and promotes greater awareness of its valuable resources and services, helping the library ensure free and equal access to information and great literature to all Jeffco residents. JCLF is also the top recycler of books in the county and offers used books, and sometimes rare book finds, for sale at its Whale’s Tale Books & Gifts store in Colorado Mills Mall and during its four-day book extravaganza, the Whale of a Used Book Sale, at the Jeffco Fairgrounds twice a year.
